‘Mahrez Needs To Be Loved’- Ex Leicester City Boss Ranieri Says Ahead Of Possible Transfer To Roma

Former Leicester City manager, Claudio Ranieri believes that Riyad Mahrez would be a perfect fit for the Italian side, Roma.

Ranieri said that the Giallorossi supporters need to show the 26-year-old affection, stating that, “He needs to be loved.”

Mahrez had stated he wanted Leicester to accept the proposal so he could “talk to” Roma, but that seems increasingly difficult.

The Giallorossi have seen another €35million offer for the Algeria international rejected on Sunday.

“He’s a great player, but one who needs to be loved, taken by the hand and embraced by the Roma fans,” Ranieri told Sky Sport Italia.

“If he has that kind of atmosphere around him, then he can show all the wonderful talent at his disposal,” He concluded.
