The Best is a song written by Mike Chapman and Holly Knight, and was originally recorded by Welsh singer Bonnie Tyler, for her 1988 album Hide Your Heart (titled Notes from America in the US).
In 1989, US-born Swiss singer Tina Turner recorded and released a successful rock version of the song, for her seventh hit solo studio album Foreign Affair.
She produced the song with Dan Hartman, and it was commercially successful, reaching the top ten on majority of the charts.
Its highest peak was at Number 2 in Belgium and Austria.
