Don Jazzy and Mavin Records Set To Lose Three Artistes

Nigerian artistes have jumped on the new trend of opening a record label as soon as their previous deals expires.

And in a label like Mavins where all the acts are doing beautifully well in the industry especially Tiwa Savage, you will expect a little bit more loyalty from their members whose contract might be running out soon, but given past history, Don Jazzy has always found it hard to hold on to his artiste when they are needed the most.

It has been revealed that Di’ja, Reekado Banks and Korede Bello signed just 3 years contract with The Mavins Record, and the said contract is said to expire in February 2017, which would complete the 3 years contract with the record Label.

Rumor has it that the artistes might not renew their contract with the record label as they already have the mind of going solo.

In what seems like a preparation for that moment, Don Jazzy talked about it in an interview.

He said: “No one signs a life time contract. In the case of Korede Bello, Di’ja and Reekado
Banks, they signed three years deals and if after three years they decide to move on to do something else that's fine, because at the end of the day that’s the goal. At the point when that happens, the fans may feel offended and the media will get to work to make it look like something else.”
