Yaya Toure left out of Guardiola’s Champions League squad

Ivory Coast international, Yaya Toure, has been dropped from Manchester City’s squad for the group stage of the UEFA Champions League.
It was rumoured in the media that the Ivorian would not be given a chance at the Etidad with his former coach at Barcelona, Pep Guardiola in charge, and this is becoming a reality as he has gradually falling out of favour with the Spanish manager again and will not feature in the group stages of the competition this year.

City will file out against Borussia Monchengladbach of Germany, Celtic of Scotland and Barcelona in Group C and Toure is another star name that will not be in the City squad after goalkeeper, Joe Hart, left the club for Torino earlier this week.

However, Belgium defender, Vincent Kompany is named in the squad after nearing the end of his four-month lay-off with a thigh injury.

Players in the squad for the group stage of UEFA Champions League include: Claudio Bravo, Willy Caballero, Bacary Sagna, Vincent Kompany, Pablo Zabaleta, Aleksandar Kolarov, Gael Clichy, John Stones, Nicolas Otamendi
Others are Fernando, Raheem Sterling, Ilkay Gundogan, Jesus Navas, Kevin De Bruyne, Fabian Delph, Leroy Sane, David Silva, Fernandinho and Nolito, Sergio Aguero, and Kelechi Iheanacho.
