Right Here Waiting is a soft rock song by American singer-songwriter Richard Marx, from his 1989 second studio album, Repeat Offender.

The artist wrote the song and also co-produced it with David Cole.

EMI Records released it on June 29, 1989, as the album’s second single. It attained global success, topping music charts throughout the world.

In the US, it peaked atop all the charts and was certified Platinum by the RIAA. It also reached Number 1 in Canada, New Zealand, Ireland and Australia.

The song has been covered by many artists; most noteworthy singer-songwriter Monica, for her 1998 second studio album The Boy Is Mine.

Her version, which features 112, reached Number 1 on the Billboard Bubbling Under R&B/Hip-Hop Singles.
