The Liverpool striker claimed that he did not realise how fast he was travelling because his sports car is calibrated in kilometres rather than miles per hour.


Super Mario didn’t appear in the court, and got handed a 28-day driving ban and £800 fine.


The striker has had a torrid start to his Liverpool career, and his future at the Merseyside club remains in the balance.
