Magic System - 1er Gaou

Ivorian Zouglou group Magic System released the song 1er Gaou as the first single from their album Premier Gaou in 2000.

The song title stands for “First Fool” in Ivorian short-language and contains an autobiographical account of group lead singer Salif “A’Salfo” Traoré about his ex-girlfriend who tried to hook up with him again when he became famous.

1er Gaou which was produced by Angelo Kabila, topped at number four (4) on the French charts and remained in the top hundred (100) for 28 weeks. It also sold more than 300,000 copies in France.
