Edge Records reacts to rumours of Reminisce’s exit

Reminisce released a new song titled ‘Local Rappers’featuring Olamideand Phynoon Thursday, January 22, 2015.

The song is off his forthcoming 3rd studio album, Baba Hafusa but it was the conspicuous absence of the logo of Edge Records on the promo artwork that raised suspicions on whether the rapper has parted ways with the record label he has been signed to since 2009.

With the artwork only carrying the logo of LRR, a record label owned by Reminisce, tongues have started wagging and NET reached out to the boss of Edge Records, simply known as Ibrahim, to ascertain if all is well between both parties.

Responding, he said: ‘No (problem), not at all, Reminisce has been with us since 2009 and he’s still with us. It’s funny when people just say stuff like that, he is still with us and there’s no problems at all.’

NET investigations revealed that the case of Reminisce is like that of Chocolate City rapper, M.I Abaga(who is signed on to Chocolate city but also runs his own label, ‘Loopy Records’ on the side). In Reminisce’s case, he has been signed to Edge Records since 2009 but he also owns a record label of his own called LRR (Les Roses Rouges) and signed a singer known as Sojayin December 2014.
