ABS refuse to appeal NFF’s decision on replay with Gateway

Nigeria National League (NNL) promotion contenders, ABS Ilorin FC, have decided not to appeal the verdict of the Organizing and Disciplinary Committee of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), which called for a replay of the NNL Match Day 14 clash between them and Gateway United of Abeokuta.

Gateway refused to play the initial match in Ilorin, citing inadequate security.

After the mandatory 30-minute wait, centre referee, Hamza Garba from Kano blew his whistle, confirming a walkover .

After Gateway protested, the committee met and decided the match should be replayed at the same venue behind closed door.

Despite an initial outrage, ABS chose not to contend with the latest verdict.

“We have been meeting since morning. As I speak to you, we are yet to conclude our top level meeting on the matter but I don’t think we will appeal against the verdict,” Alloy Chukwuemeka, Director of Football, ABS Ilorin FC told Completesportsnigeria.com

“We have until 5pm Friday to push our appeal but I don’t think we have any plans for that except to focus on the replay game which comes up next week Wednesday.”
