We’re not afraid of Mourinho, we will even pay for his dinner – Guardiola’s assistant

Pep Guardiola’s assistant, Domenec Torrent, has insisted that his boss is not scared of Jose Mourinho and will even pay for his dinner.
The two managers are set to renew their rivalries next season, after they agreed to coach Manchester City and Manchester United respectively.

Both came up against each other when Guardiola was in charge of Barcelona and Mourinho coached Real Madrid. Their clashes were always feisty and tense, but Torrent says that is in the past now.


“Manchester is a small place and I’m sure we will coincide [with him] in restaurants,” he said.

“One day he can pay and another day Pep and I will pay. I think Pep is past being spooked by anything.

“You just get on with your work and control everything that is in your power to control. For our part we are very relaxed about it all.”
