Arsenal players are set to give a day’s wages to charity in order to build football pitches for refugee children in Iraq.

The whole Gunners squad have agreed to donate their salary from the clash with Manchester City to the Arsenal Foundation.

In partnership with their global partner Save the Children, the money will be used to build two pitches for refugee children to play football In Iraq.

Some money will also be used to help other people all over the world in a variety of special projects ahead of the Christmas holidays.

Gabriel Paulista says he’s happy the squad are helping out and is keen to do as much as possible.

‘It’s pure joy because as a footballer it is our duty to help people,’ he said.

‘For me to withdraw 1,000 or one million pounds from my account to help – I’m happy to do that.’
