Ondo Election: Eyitayo Jegede Concedes Defeat in Emotional Speech (Video)

People's Democratic Party gubernatorial candidate, Eyitayo Jegede SAN has accepted the outcome of the November 26 governorship election. He has therefore congratulated the gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Rotimi Akeredolu who emerged winner.

It would be recalled that there were earlier indications that Mr. Jegede could be challenging the results in court following an alleged lack of level playing ground set by the Federal Government and the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.

Read his emotional concession speech below:

"My dear people of Ondo State, my name is Eyitayo Jegede SAN, the governorship candidate of the People's Democratic Party candidate in the recently concluded election in our dear state.

"Though the outcome of the election is not what we expected, It is time to show gratitude. To all those who voted for us I say thank you. To all those who voted for other candidates, I also say thank you because you are part of the democratic experience.

"To my dear friend and brother, Rotimi Akeredolu SAN, I say congratulations to you and I wish you the best.

"God bless you. Thank you."
