Matt Rife: Natural Selection Netflix Special Gets Streaming Release Date

Matt Rife, whom fans may recognize as the funny, handsome, and totally unhinged comedian on TikTok and various social media platforms, will be gracing Netflix soon with his own stand-up comedy special, titled Matt Rife: Natural Selection. Set to hit the streamer on November 15, Rife executive produced the hour-long special himself, alongside Christina Shams.

After selling around 600,000 tickets for his ProbleMATTic World Tour, the 28-year-old comedian has scored his first Netflix special. Rife reportedly filmed the hour-long special on September 22 and 23 at the DAR Constitution Hall in Washington, D.C.

Matt Rife: Natural Selection is a follow-up to the comedian’s earlier self-produced projects, including Matt Rife: Only Fans and Matt Rife: Matthew Steven Rife.

“All About Survival of the Wittiest”

Netflix announced that the upcoming comedy special will have the comedian leaving “no topic untouched,” with “no audience spared.”

“After having amassed a large social following through his viral content showcasing his quick wit and crowd work, Matt embarked on a sold-out world tour. Now in his first Netflix comedy special, Matt leaves no topic untouched – from crystals to social media trolls – and no audience member spared,” the logline reads.

In an interview with Deadline, Rife teased that the upcoming Netflix comedy special was his “most fun hour yet.”

“I’d say it’s my most fun hour yet. I think people are really going to like it. There’s something in there for everybody,” said Rife.

Though Rife rose to prominence as a stand-up comedian — particularly on social media — he also has some television credits under his belt, including MTV’s Wild ‘n Out, The Challenge: Champs vs. Stars, and in episodes of Brooklyn Nine-Nine and Fresh Off the Boat.
