Days rolled into weeks,weeks gradually rolled into a month but still neither Gerald nor segun had been able to take the prize.

Gerald entered the office and saw sade going through a file.

“You look beautiful” he told her after
they had greeted.

Sade blushed ” thank u sir”
“Haba sade no more sir jor, I thought we are now friends. Its been a month now”
Sade smiled nervously ” if you say so”
Gerald knew he had gotten sade,this few weeks working with her he had made her want and love him. Now is the best time to strike he reasoned.

Gerald offered to drop sade home after work that day.

” You don’t have to bother sir, I can manage on my own” sade said in a bid to protest.

“I know you aiint a baby ,you can find your way home. I insist on taking you home,its no bother dear”
“I stay at ikorodu but because of IT I put up with a friend at obalende.I hope you don’t mind?”
” Ofcourse I don’t”
Sade directed him as soon as they got to bukola’s street. “Here we are Gerald said breaking the uncomfortable silence.

Gerald opened the door for sade to alight,sade stood thanking Gerald for the ride when Bukola came out of the gate.

“So you didn’t want to enter abi?” Bukola asked jokingly.

“Naah I was just thanking my boss” sade replied her. Gerald meet my friend bukola,bukola meet Gerald my boss.”
“Don’t mind her oo we’re colleagues,Gerald said with a smile. You are also as pretty as sade, he added. Anyway birds of a feather flocks together”
They all laughed…”Its nice meeting you” bukola said bringing her hand for a handshake.

“Same here dear. well I’ve got to go now.

See you some other time. Goodnight sade ”
he said kissing her right cheek.

It was a cool sunday morning,sade woke up lightheaded. She’d spent the whole weekend thinking about Gerald. Obviously he likes her but he hasn’t said anything yet and it was killing her. Oh she wished bukola was with her. “I miss that girl,she sighed.

Immediately her phone vibrated,she had 1whatapp message.

“Morning beautiful, how was your night? Did you sleep well?

The message brought smiles to her face. It was from Gerald.

“Morning, I slept well what abt you?”
“Am not sure if I slept well,I miss you ,I can’t wait to see you tomorrow he replied.

“Okay if you say so,I’ve got to go now.
I want to prep for chech ttyl. Sade ended the chat smiling.

That chat just made her day,sade couldn’t wait to see gerald the following day. Even her mom noticed she was glowing.

MONDAY MORNING
Gerald treated sade in a real different and special way. Sade couldn’t wait to kiss him.

Segun still came around sade but she made it point clear that nothing could happen between them.

“I want you to spend saturday with me” gerald said to her
“What about your girlfriend?” Sade stammered. ” I don’t want her coming to beat me up because I can’t fight oo” sade joked to ease the tension between them.

“Girlfriend kor!, I am girlfriendless for now, so will u be chanced?”
“Oohk I will try”
Sade’s heart was pounding in her chest…”OMG!!! I love this guy…was he looking for an opportunity to ask her out?” She asked herself. Its been two months of knowing him and she loved him this much already.

Although she wasn’t sure of his feelings.”No need to hurry you ll find out soon” she told herself.

After work that day she told bukola Gerald’s request. Bukola didn’t think it was a bad idea,she encouraged her to go. Before going to bed sade called her mom telling her she won’t be coming home that weekend.

Gerald la!d in his bed thinking if things would work out as planned. Finally sade will be in his home, the ball was in his court. A cool breeze swept him it was about to rain. He stood up to close the windows. Thinking of those ripe apples on sade’s chest and how succlent they ll be.
